Ingredients

  • 3 large Granny Smith apples, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 11 ounces soft caramel bits
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi -sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice mixed with 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Submerge the apple slices in the lemon juice and water mixture for 1 minute to prevent browning, then remove and pat thoroughly dry with paper towels.
  • Arrange the dried apple slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, placing them close together in a single layer.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramel bits and heavy cream. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is completely smooth.
  • Drizzle the melted caramel evenly over the apple slices, using a spatula to spread if necessary to cover most of the surface.
  • Place the chocolate chips in a separate microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second increments until melted and smooth.
  • Drizzle the melted chocolate over the caramel layer in a decorative pattern.
  • Immediately sprinkle the chopped pecans and flaky sea salt over the wet chocolate.
  • Refrigerate the tray for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour until the caramel and chocolate are firm.
  • Slice or break the set bark into individual portions and serve immediately.
