Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe but firm Bosc or Anjou pears
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into 4 small pieces
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a shallow baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Slice the pears in half lengthwise and use a melon baller or small spoon to remove the core and seeds to create a small cavity.
  • Place the pear halves in the prepared baking dish with the cut side facing up.
  • Distribute the chopped pecans evenly into the hollowed centers of the pears.
  • Drizzle approximately 1/2 tablespoon of maple syrup over each pear half.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon and sea salt evenly across the pears.
  • Place one small piece of butter on top of each pecan-filled cavity.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the pecans are toasted.
  • Remove from the oven and spoon any syrup that has collected in the bottom of the dish back over the pears before serving.
