Stir in the maple syrup, melted coconut oil, and almond extract until a thick dough forms.
Using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop, portion the dough and roll into 12 balls.
Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet and flatten them slightly with the palm of your hand or a fork.
Press a few sliced almonds into the center of each cookie.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheet to allow them to firm up.
